I've never had issues with this smoker before, but all day I've been having wildly fluctuations in temp, until it decided to do this. A few seconds after I ended the recording, it did a mini blowout or whatever they're called, so we turned it off and moved the meat to the oven, but what the hell caused this?

Can you hear your fan running? If you are not injecting air the pellets will burn but poorly and smolder, eventually they ignite and you get the boom.

  2. I would be very careful with opening that lid, since it’s very possible that smoke is a LOT of wood gas. If you open the lid and introduce oxygen, that would mean a spontaneous flashover in your face.

Every time I say to myself “I’ll buy a pellet grill to compliment my PK”, I see a video like this and go back to the drawing board.

Don’t care if there’s a bunch of windows behind, you can’t smoke indoors!!

Pellet smoker indoors. Just so many layers of “LOL”

I think you’ve at least elected a new pope though.

  6. The5dubyas

Yeah that meat is going to taste like socks. No saving it. But you CANNOT smoke indoors.

  7. PastorofMuppets79

Get that food off of that smoke you’re going to ruin it

  8. jrrthe3rd1

When’s the last time you cleaned the burn chamber?

  9. PrimaxAUS

Are you sure you didn’t have Snoop in there?

  10. RonaldoLibertad

You need to clean the ash out of it. It’s not getting good ventilation.

  11. Mugsy_Siegel

You would not want a grease fire in it closed in that awning area

Dumbest thing I’ve seen on here nice work

  13. Bottdavid

Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre rolling up to the Grammys didn’t make this much smoke indoors.

Clean out the fire pot. If it gets full of dust it won’t allow proper air circulation, then pellets don’t ignite and they keep piling up until this happens.

  15. foofie_fightie

Why isn’t it in a well ventilated area?

  16. KlooShanko

Dude, this is ridiculously dangerous. You’re probably not responding to everyone talking about ventilation because “it’s fine” in your opinion. This situation is one step away from massive fireball. What’s your solution if it bursts into flame? You’ll have an open campfire in your house. You’ll probably lose your homeowners insurance if they find out about this

Bud light presents real men of genius.

  18. FauciFloydLGBTQ

Opening the lid was probably the dumbest thing you could’ve done other than operating it indoors

  19. Konnoisseur26

What the hell is that doing inside? Are you daft or do you *want* to burn down your house?

  20. JoeViturbo

I have a sun room and we’ve talked about storing the smoker in there, but never about running it in there because that would just me silly

  21. kane_thehuman

Firefighter here. Thanks for the job security! Lol

But seriously though. This should be FULLY outside. Smoke is itself flammable. Google flash overs, smoke explosions, and backdrafts. I have seen this exact scenario turn ugly a few times. Put it outside bro.

  22. Friendly_You_1512

I know they only recommend routine cleaning, but seriously, clean it after every use. In the end it’s about the eating. You don’t want to be eating something created in filth. Clean every time or let someone who cares do the cooking, they will clean it if they really care.

  23. diprivan69

Is it safe to be grilling in an enclosed space?

  24. Quick, put more meat in that room! You have the biggest smoker in the block.

  25. Key_Geologist4621

When I’ve experienced this it was due to me needing to change out the liner on the grease tray. Build up on it was starting to burn.

  26. Yaybicycles

Why the F are you running the smoker in a closed room?!

  27. Professional_Bell_64

We already got a new Pope !

    What about a 2nd Pope
